5 months

Matthew turned 5 months on the 18th of June. I just can't believe that he is already 5 months. I just don't understand why being pregnant feels like it will never end and once your baby arrives into this world time goes by way too fast. Time, can you please SLOW down? Matthew has brought absolute joy into our lives and every day gets better and better. Our little guy is the happiest baby I have ever seen. He wakes up smiling and goes to bed smiling. He really is just an absolute joy to have in our lives. I honeslty could not imagine our lives without him.

5 months:

*Rolls over(both ways)

*smiles constantly

*laughs so hard

*trys to crawl (we can scoot)

*eats baby food(sweet potatoes are his fav!)

*starting to teeth

*chews on everything

*LOVES his mommy and daddy

Exer-Saucer

Last week we went out and bought Matthew an exer-saucer. We weren't sure if he would like it because when testing them out at the store he didn't seem too interested. Much to our surprise he LOVES it! He is fascinated by the lights that flash and all the different things he could do. But most of all I think he likes it because he gets to use his legs while playing. He loves to be standing!

He likes how the lizard changes colors. He even pushes on him so he will light up over and over and over again(so fun for mommy and daddy to hear...on repeat)!
Just making sure mommy is watching!!!

4 Months

Matthew turned 4 months on the 18th of May. I just can't believe that he has been a part of our life for 4 whole months now. He is just such an amazing baby. He has brought nothing but joy to our lives. Matthew is such a content happy baby all the time. He is always smiling and laughing at everyone. It is just so adorable watching him interact with you.

He loves to watch tv. He gives tv his full attention when on. So don't even try talking to him during his shows...seriously!

Matthew also loves to chow down on his hands. He just finds them fascinating. He chews on them constantly. I swear people its not because he is hungry. I really do feed my child!!!

Here are some things Matthew loves at 4 months:

• Exer-Saucer


• Mr. Passy(pacifier)


• Mommy's sheet(now his)


• Books(especially the kind that pop out)


• Life

Here are some things not sure about yet:

• Naps


• Baby food


• Crowds


• Tummy time


• Rolling over(has to be convenient for him)

He now weighs a whopping 13 lbs 12 oz and is almost 25 inches long. He has grown a little more than 3 inches in two months. I am pretty sure he will be tall like his daddy.

Bumbo

A couple of weeks ago I bought Matthew a bumbo. I wasn't sure how much he would like it but I wanted to give it a try. And much to my suprise he loves it. It is so great because it not only helps him sit up but it helps with other things as well. I can just put him up on the counter with me while I cook and it is like he is helping. He is just so content as long as you are paying full attention to him or if he is in the mix. He is just to dang cute. Love this child!!!

3 Months

Matthew turned 3 months on April 18, 2010. I can't believe how time speeds by. Having him in our lives has been an absolute joy. I never knew you could love something so much. Here are a couple of things about baby Matthew at 3 months:

- Sleeps through the night

- Smiles and laughs

- Discovered his hands

- Chews on his fist

- Loves his bumbo

- Can roll from tummy to back(only when camera is not on)

- Watches and follows you

- Needs you to pay attention to him ALL the time

- Loves to watch tv (not sure if this is ok but oh well!)

-Spits up after every meal

- Hates to be burped

- Still only poops once a day

- Is getting lighter hair

- Loves to kick

- Has the cutest chubby cheeks

- A very happy content baby

The list could go on and on. I have enjoyed every day I have had with this little guy. And we are looking forward to watching him grow.

Play Time

Matthew is loving his play mat. In the last week or so Matthew has become way more alert. He loves to look around and explore his surroundings. Every day he plays on his mat for at least an hour and he just loves it. It is so cute to watch him get so excited and just start laughing and smiling. Lately he has been making contact with his toys and it is just so exciting to watch him become more capable of doing things on his own. Our baby is such a joy and is getting bigger every day and it has been so fun to be able to experience all of these milestones with him.

Schedule

A few weeks ago Matt and I decided to try putting baby Matthew on an eating schedule. The first week went great. He was eating every 4 hours and at night he would have one good 5 hour stretch. For some reason last week Matthew did not want to follow a schedule. He wanted to eat on his time and that was all there was to it. He jumped around from 4 hours to 3 and most of the time every 2 1/2. What the heck. He was doing so well the week before I thought for sure he had it down but NO not our child. I think it is because he is so perfect that he had to make all the other parents and children look as good as him some how so, this is his way of doing it. No schedule for him, so I thought. But for the past couple of days he has been perfect, well more than perfect. Saturday he ate every 4 hours and Saturday night(day light savings) he ate at 10:30, went to bed at midnight(his usual) and slept until 6:30am. I woke up so excited but thought to myself it must be a fluke. So, when last night cam around I thought for sure we would be up every 4 hours or so. But much to my surprise he ate @ 9:30pm, went to sleep at midnight and slept until 4:00am. It may not be a consistent schedule or sleeping through the night but it is good enough for Matt and I. We are so blessed to have such a happy baby. He is just absolutely perfect and we just love him so much.
